A good title for your website is very important. Not only the wording but proper meta tag placement for search indexing. A recent interview with one of googles staff members told us exactly how important a good title and correct title meta tags are. Your website title is normally found in the index or header of your website and it is in the <title> your title here</a> tags. This is the way search engines will list your site when indexing and its very important to have these tags setup correctly. I see sites all the time that just simply have there domain name in the title and no description which in my eyes is a huge messup. The search engines will list your title along with your description which basically tells people who are searching for certain sites what your site is all about. Make sure you have these important tags setup correctly before ever submitting your site. You can do a simple check to see if your title is setup correctly by simply loading your site and then looking in the top of your browser to see how it is listed. If you just see your url or domain name then you really should ad a descriptive title tag which looks more professional anyway. If you see your title in the browser bar at the top then more than likely your good to go and thats how search engines will list your site. One little secret is you can change your title every couple of months to get newer versions of your links indexed also. This keeps your title fresh and will give you even more links in search engines as they spider your site.
